Kenmore 59940 Kitchen Hood - A telescopic-style range hood, this unit is installed behind a cooktop and rises 7 inches high to draw in heat, grease, and smoke. It is suitable for countertop, island, and peninsula installations. Other manufacturers offer similarly-styled equipment, but Sears offers this style at the most affordable price. This model utilizes downdraft technology and must be vented to the outside of the home. It can be ducted in three ways: right, left, or down. The internal blower is of the centrifugal style and is operated by an infinite rotary control knob. Sufficient space is required to install this unit behind the cooktop. It will also require space below the cooktop (inside the cabinet) for retracting and for venting. The finish is all stainless steel.
